Travel Blog: Testing solutions from the UK to Bangladesh!

Our commercial team of International Sales Managers, Business Development Managers, Service Engineers and  Directors, are regularly seen travelling across the globe to meet with new and existing customers, solve challenges and discuss new innovations in materials testing.

July has been a busy month for travel – especially for our Commercial Director Andrew and Sales Manager Javier. Here they share their travel story from their recent trip to Bangladesh.

29th July 2018:

Yesterday we had the pleasure to visit the world’s first LEED Platinum certified factory in the woven dying sector.

Mithela Textile Industries, located just outside of Dhaka in Bangladesh, is a supplier to some of the leading global apparel brands. We were welcomed to visit this state-of-the art facility by Senior General Manager Mr. Ranjan Kumar Das.

Despite having been in the role less than two weeks, Mr. Ranjan had made it his first order of business to replace virtually all the testing instruments he inherited from his predecessor.

The instruments, supplied only recently by our competitor, were deemed not fit-for-purpose in meeting the quality requirements of the major brands. Furthermore, the laboratory technicians we met with were disappointed by the functionality and general user experience of these instruments.

This remarkable factory demonstrates Mithela's commitment to quality and sustainability and James Heal is proud to have been selected as the preferred supplier of premium testing solutions to such a prestigious organization.

It was really great event. More than 1000 people from Bangladesh Textile Industries joined in this program!

I also had the pleasure of attending the official opening of the Hohenstein textile testing laboratory on Saturday evening, 28th August 2018.

James Heal has been working closely with Dr. Kamruzzaman, and particularly Johny Yasmin Kanta, for more than two years on this project and their high levels of professionalism, dedication and expertise have resulted in the creation one of the most impressive textile testing laboratories in the world.

The launching ceremony took place at the Radisson Blu hotel in Dhaka and was a fantastic celebration marked by many high profile special guests and entertainment including light shows and dance routines. It was also a great opportunity to meet up with friends and associates from the industry, including our good friend Mazharul Islam from LC Waikiki (pictured left with myself, Jahangir Alam and Javier Manzano).

James Heal is honoured to be one of the key suppliers of testing solutions for this prestigious new laboratory and we were delighted to see our full range of Testing Instruments showcased in the official Hohenstein Laboratories Bangladesh launch video.

We would like to wish Kamrul and Kanta the best of luck with their new venture and thank them for a great evening on Saturday.

A very exciting time for the Hohenstein Institute. We are honoured to have been selected as a provider of High Quality Textile Instrumentation, for this impressive brand new facility. Many congratulations to Md. Kamruzzaman (Kamrul) and Johny Yasmin Kanta, from the rest of the James Heal Team in the UK!
