Features

TestWise Pro for FlexiBurn

Our intuitive TestWise Operating System increases your laboratory's operational efficiency, minimises user training and guarantees compliance in this important area of safety testing. Features include pre-loaded standards and automatic set up.

A range of standards

To comply with various BS, EN, EN ISO and retailer standards, we offer a comprehensive range of easily interchangeable gas burners, interchangeable test frames and test materials

Effective & controlled

An effective, controlled way of testing ignition and flame spread properties of a range of materials. Controlled parameters guarantee compliance to standards and relevant UK and EU regulations.

Horizontal and vertical thread markers

The FlexiBurn offers provision for both horizontal and vertical threads, and the software tracks the threads and alerts the user to misplacement.

FlexiBurn is James Heal’s multi-purpose flammability tester. Flammability testing is used to understand how quickly and easily a material will ignite and how a flame spreads when it is exposed to fire.

FlexiBurn has a robotic arm for precise and controlled positioning of the burner and when used with the optional radiator assembly, FlexiBurn complies with EN 13772 ‘Burning Behaviour – curtains and drapes – measurement of flame spread with large ignition source’.

FlexiBurn is suitable for a range of applications including:

  • Curtains
  • Drapes
  • Nightwear
  • Protective clothing
  • Children’s toys
  • Technical fabrics
  • Upholstery

Watch FlexiBurn in Action

Take a look at this brief video which explores how to perform a flammability test, following the EN ISO 15025: 2016 (A-Surface Ignition) standard, comparing Fire Retardant treated and Non Fire Retardant treated specimens. You will see the clear distinction between what is considered a successful pass result, and what consists of a fail. Many other preset standards are included in the TestWise software.
