Celebrating Another Successful UKAS Audit at James Heal

We are delighted to announce that we have passed our annual United Kingdom Accreditation (UKAS) audit for a 20th consecutive year. This is demonstrable evidence of the consistent high standards our UKAS specified staff and signatories are meeting to retain this accreditation.

'Accreditation delivers confidence in certificates and conformity statements. It underpins the quality of results by ensuring their traceability, comparability, validity and commutability.'

We were first audited in 1999, and have maintained accreditation in the twenty following years, where necessary evolving our processes to meet the standards outlined in ISO ISO17025 . This latest ISO standard is particularly stringent, designed to drive continual improvement in manufacturing laboratories.

This audit included evaluation of calibration on TruBurst, Perspirometer and Martindale, with other instruments assessed in a four-year cycle. The calibration process is extremely strict intended to highlight our technical competency and organisational integrity.

What does accreditation mean for our customers?

Organisations rely on our instruments to generate test results with the highest levels of accuracy, reliability and reproducibility. With the UKAS logo of accreditation it verifies our instruments are independently tested, ensuring they conform to relevant standards. One of our company’s core values is integrity, this is something that is tied into and demonstrated through this certification.

Our newly appointed Quality Manager, Peter Brown, and UKAS Laboratory Manager, Mick Jones, worked in tandem to prepare James Heal for certification.

‘It is reassuring to know we have maintained the highest standards throughout in order to maintain our UKAS accreditation.’
Peter Brown, Quality Manager

If you would like to read more about the detail involved in calibrating to UKAS standard, we have produced an e-book. Titled ’10 reasons to calibrate your Martindale to UKAS standard,’ which you can download here.
